At last. My new XC70 finally arrived at the dealer this week. Already enjoyed the car by just sitting in it. Sadly registration will take a couple of days, so I must exercise patience before I can ride it! But it feels good to now be a real member of this community rateher than a vitual-one!!!!!!

Congrats Harrynato! :)

Don't recall if you ever mentioned what color combo you opted for on your D5. Any luck in acquiring a dog barrier?

Enjoy and be sure to post some pics of your new ride!

Thanks Art,

I finally settled for silver metallic and off-black leather trim. Could not resist adding a serious number of options. Have not ordered the dog guard yet.

Will be a pleasure to let all of you enjoy the looks of my new ride by adding some pictures. You will see me having a big smile on my face.

Congrats Harrynato!!

Is your D5 a 6-speed Manual by any chance?:)
Been wanting to hear some feed back from 6-spd XC70 D5 owners.

Cheers:cool:

Harry, welcome to the board and the XC driving community. Bergen op Zoom - is that anywhere near Maastricht by any chance? My mom and dad came from Limburg and I seem to recall seeing your town while in Holland.

We took delivery of our XC on June 10th and have managed 5,500 kilometers thus far. Hopefully you will be a little bit more judicious about your driving habits!

Sorry ifnt420, it's a Geartronic. As the Geartronic has been advertised here as the ideal combo and since the manual gearbox has only been available on the D5 for a short while, there will not be too many in the configuration you are looking for. Still, good luck!!

John@CdnRockies,

As you live in Canada, Maastricht is indeed closeby. Some 120 kilometers only. However, when you live in the Netherlands 120 kilometers quite a distance. Alomst the other side of the country! But if you are looking for something, like information or so, I am sure I can help you.

Well done Harry, I could see your grin in your writing. Happy motoring.

My licence plates have arrived. The garage prepared the car. Tour plan for the weekend is made. Finally, after more than 6 moths of waiting I will get my XC70. Tomorrow is the day. Consider the first pictures of my new wheels underway.

Hello Dick,
Just curious: Why would you want a D5? (I drove both, I won't trade my 2.5T for the diesel engine).
