I guess this goes to Coastal, but first let me say that I love this site. The old one was the slowest site I visited. It would take about 18 seconds to load with a DSL. Modem loading on my travel laptop took forever. This new one really rips!

I see a utility for adding pictures. It looks like you upload them directly instead of pointing at another web page. Is that about correct? Are there size limitations? The reason I ask is I don't want to make a post, say "look at the picture", and then not be able to have the image there. Makes me feel dumber than most of my posts imply :)

Thanks for the comments gibbons, I'm really happy with how they turned out too :D

Actually, I'm going to be disabling the attachments feature very shortly.

Instead I want to keep all the photos in an indexable database for easier viewing. It's also lighter on the bandwidth since the photos get partially optimized when uploaded to the Galleries.

The best way to post a photo remains:

Visit the photo gallery upload page (http://www.xc70.com/pics/upload.php), follow the directions and upload your pic.

Then when the image is uploaded, right click on the actual image and select properties. Then copy and paste the image's entire URL, something like: http://xc70.com/pics/albums/userpics/normal_XC70_Rockclimbing_01.jpg

Then from there, return to the forums and in the post toolbar click on the http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/images/editor/insertimage.gif button.

Then paste the URL into the promt window and it should show up.. like this...http://xc70.com/pics/albums/userpics/normal_XC70_Rockclimbing_01.jpg

Wow, this is the first time I've tried posting a pic with the new software... pops it right into the post window, how cool!!!

**Edit: I figured it out, sorry for the trouble. Thanks!!:o **

Coastal,

What feature do I have to enable to get the post toolbar?
Now if I want to post a photo, I have to manually type in and .
Also, I don't have any clickable smilies.. I can only do simple ones with my keyboard.

Help Help!!

Thanks.

ifnt420, I have the same problems, looks like we have the same machine. I also complained to Taylor about the same sort of problems I am having but his reply to me seemed to suggest that I have a problem with my settings. I cannot see the photos of the market place for the VXC.com stickers but on the office machine I can see the photos fine. On my machine (x2) I do not even have a blank square where the photo should be.

I guess I am going to have to have a play around with my setting but I hope they are right as my machine is set by Norton to avaoid hacking and other security problems.

If you find a fix let me know and likewise.

Also this page is telling me I am an 'unregistered user' so here goes
