Rebate available for accessories

Volvo has a promotion through September 30 for rebates up to $50 when you purchase a roof mounted or hitch mounted accessory.  It might not be worth the paperwork to collect the money but if you are interested the information is available if you register for the Volvo Owner's Circle web site at http://new.volvocars.com/ownerscircle.  Once you sign on you will see the "accessories promotion" link.  I thought I should post this here since those of us new to Volvo are most likely to take advantage of this offer.

Just a note from experience- those Volvo rebates take FOREVER....  I sent in a promotion for the winter holiday 20% off rebate in late december... it came in the mail 3 days ago.

Mine was just aski rack. But as for the cargo boxes (and all Volvo accessories)- all are made by Thule. The products are extremely well made. Simple setup, use, very good design. You can order them color-matched as well. Alternately, you could buy one of Thule's boxes directly. For comparison on prices, surf the net. This time of year it is somewhat possible to find Thule products on sale- although REI just ended their annual 20% off Thule blowout.

Thule's new Evolution boxes are particularly nice- albeit expensive. There is likely to be a new Volvo equiv-although I do not see it right now.

Last thing to note: Be sure to try and bargain on the Volvo accessory prices- the boxes are sometimes more negotiable- see This Link (http://volvopartsworld.com) for example.  Try to price match and then take $50 rebate off that!

Thanks Low Tide.  That link seems to suggest that they are offering 20% off retail plus the rebate.  Fantastic.
