I didn't realize this until now, from what I can tell they're going to be fielding TWO xc's in the race, on under the race category and one under the service category.

The real test will come in the deserts of Northern Africa. As a matter of fact, for 2003 there will be 2 stages where assistance vehicles will not be allowed access making the marathon event even more challenging. Race officials will also be neutralizing GPS on certain stages in order give the race a more pure edge.
