Sorry Coastal,

I must be in dumbo mode today -

How do I include the source of a quotation in my post.
I can manage to do a text quote, but that's the limit of my capabilities.

I did look at the help text on the reply page, honest, really..

BTB (or BTW) It would be nice to have an idiot's guide to some of the (extra) features. I'm quite happy to prepare some text, but first I need the Knowledge.

Thanks,

Raynald

Don&#39;t be to hard on yourself&#33; http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

If you want to quote a fellow member, use the &quot;Quote&quot; button at the far right of the first line of his or her post. You may remove part of the quote as I did.

To indicate the source of a &quot;manual&quot; quote, whitin the open &quot;quote&quot; tag (between the square brackets), just put:
- the equal &quot;=&quot; sign
- whatever you want
- a comma
- whatever you want.
Example:
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Joe Reporter @ The Town Herald)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">This an article by Joe Reporter
<span id='postcolor'>
So the previous quote is, minus the quotes:
&quot;
This is an article by Joe&quot;
End the quote with the closing tag and that&#39;s it. You might want to use the &quot;Preview Post&quot; button before posting to see the results before doing... the real thing.
Hope it helps&#33; http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Raynald,

Very many thanks, I would nerver have worked out your second technique for myself.

As for the first - couldn&#39;t see for looking (could be a bit tedious for some when replying to my more recent posts - they are somewhat long&#33;&#33;

This is the only board that I post to regularly, and I&#39;m slowly getting to grips with its bells and whistles (mustn&#39;t call them Gizmos else I may be attacked by ravaging hordes).

Thanks again, I hope others will read your answer and benefit from it.
