According to a Swedish magazine Volvo will change the steering gear with a new one for the next model of V70 (2004) and S80. I suppose this also will be true for XC70 (2004). Volvo is already using this new steering gear in the new R-models and XC90. This new steering will give a more exact feeling than the old one.
