How many of you are planning, or already have an XC90 on order from your friendly neighbourhood Volvo Dealer?

http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Have you settled on a price?

Have you got a delivery date?

From my calculations we're only about 3-4 months from delivery, correct?

I can't wait to see the XC90 at our local dealership. It's too bad Volvo hadn't made an SUV earlier because I had to settle with a fully loaded Pathfinder only only because volvo didn't make anything big enough that could haul a boat or my hockey/baseball gear. Luckily I leased this car for 3 years not even knowing that the XC90 even existed and the lease happens to end in December of 2002, which I'm sure is after the XC90 comes out. I will be first in line to get an order on one of these beautiful cars. As a past owner of an '83 240 turbo and a '94 940 wagon, I know that Volvo's are only getting waaaay better every year. So without a second look I would easily pick out an XC90 rather than a Mercedes ML or a BMW X5 and it will appear in my driveway in a short 5 months. Thanks for reading!! Ckeck out this site: http://www.volvoxc90.vcc.volvocars.se/frameset.asp you can download video of the XC90, play with a 3d model with any accessory you want and get new info on this awesome car.

I have had a deposit down on an XC90 since January. I am #4 on the waiting list at Mt. Kisco Volvo in Westchester County, NY. According to posts over at Volvospy.com, pricing information for the U.S. should be available in mid-August. Once pricing is in, those people who are on waiting lists will be able to pick options, colors, etc. and place a firm order. The dealer has told be that the first vehicles should be here in November and they will likely have the T6 engine.

I'm expecting that a loaded T6 will cost close to $50K. If I am correct, this pricing will to fairly close to the new Lexus GX470 which will be coming out in Dec/Jan. I also have a deposit down on the GX and will wait to make my final decision after I have had a chance to test drive both of them.

From what I have read and the pictures I have seen, I think the XC90 and the GX470 will both be great SUV's and a step ahead of the current crop of mid-sized luxury SUV's (e.g. MDX, ML320, RX300). The one hesitation I have with the XC90 is Volvo's reliability relative to Lexus's, expecially with first year models.

Nothing betters Lexus in terms of quality and reliability, but in terms of safety? I would drive a Volvo any day... and I worked for Toyota for five years http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif But seriously, I predict the XC90 to have many problems for the first two years. I may consider switching to XC90 if I need to transport more than five people in the future. This won't happen in two years, though http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I am really looking into changing my XC for a xc90, but not in the first 2 years. There are always little things they upgrade or fix. I am a firm believer that European cars have the best quality and workmanship. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

We have about 30 on order, I personally have 9. I expect with all of the press coming out and publicity...that will be growing greatly in the next month or so.

As long time Volvo person i would highly suggest staying away from any Volvo product that doesnt have at least a year behind it. Consumers report points this out regularly with a not recommended to buy on Volvo's.

Just for comparison:

Never saw them together before, the XC90 makes the XC70 look small, doesn't it http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh2.gif

As the times go... 50+ orders at out dealership. personally up to 18. I expect 25% to fall by the wayside, do to various reasons.

Since Volvo Belgium will only deliver 7-seaters and my family counts only 2 persons I will not order one.
Perhaps if they will deliver the 5-seater in the future, and provided I am patient enough not to look somewhere else...

Expected delivery early December.

Someone please explain to me what the point of the 90 is? unless you need to seat 7 ppl, what's the difference. They come with almost the same options and have the same characteristics with the exception of the T6. They are priced pretty closely, have similar grnd clearance, etc etc. I just don't get it. Even with stability this and dynamic that, the 90 still has to be more prone to rollover than the 70, true?

When I saw the 90 when the Volvo Ocean Race pulled into Annapolis, I chatted at length with the volvo ppl and they just could not sell me on why it was better or different than the 70

I am not anti-truck. I have had trucks for the last 17 years and recently saw the light of 4wd wagons.

The XC90 is larger than the XC70. For me that is 6'7" and approx 190 lbs every inch in difference matters. And the 90 is wider, longer and it can hold more cargo compared to the 70.

I'm going for the 5-seater, expecting to load my fishing gear together with the baby and all things needed for her.

Personally I like the looks of the 90 over the more reasonable looks of the 70. If I had the money I would get myself a Lincoln Navigator or a Hummer, but the thought of filling up a Lincoln Navigator twice a week here in Sweden where the gas is close to 5USD/gallon scares me http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I put down a deposit down on the XC90 on Sept 30th. It is interesting to note that I was told by the sales manager (following a call he just had with Volvo), that an order placed today should arrive sometime in January. But I see that William said in an earlier post that US deliveries of custom orders were looking at a March delivery at the earliest. Has anybode recv'd any custom order delivery updates for the US?

I am 26th on the list here in KC, and stopped by the dealer last weekend to see the non-driveable demo. I spoke to the sales manager, and was able to customize my order (added Nav, bi-Xenon lights) and was given a 12/18 delivery date!

I've ordered, expect it in about 3 months, no big hurry

My XC90 has already arrived at the port in San Diego and may already be on the truck heading to my dealer in Bend, Oregon. Could have it as early as this weekend. Was glad that I decided on the T6 model instead of the 2.5 liter engine. I heard that because of the ship that sank in the English Channel (with new Volvo's on board) many US dealers were having their second allocation of XC90's (due for delivery in another 4-6 weeks) pulled to refill the orders that went unfilled due to the sinking. If I had ordered the 2.5 liter engine mine would have been in the second allocation.

Our new xc 90 came in today after 11months on the waiting list, bummer was that they had the wrong car. it didn't have the correct packages added to it. After 3 hours and calls to 16 states, I found and bought one from another state and our dealer is paying to have it trucked here. There are a surprizing number of xc 90's for sale that people ordered but didn't want once they got here, most are the ash gold and the crystal green which don't do anything for me. If you are looking for one try calling around. i got the numbers from the volvocar.com dealers list. Shipping is around $500 depending on how far it must go. I can hardly wait for it to get here.
