I like the look of the XC90 but I also heard it's based on the Ford Explorer chassis.  Given the known problems with the Explorer flipping over in various situations, I'm a bit worried abou the XC90 if it is indeed based on the Ford chassis...  Anyone know?

"The XC90 was designed to ride on the same chassis the S80, S60 and V70 passenger-cars. Vacca said this platform, which is noted for a compliant ride and crisp handling, gives the XC90 an automatic edge in these areas."

Wherever you heard that that the XC90 is based on the Explorer, it seems to be wrong.

That said, I would fully expect that you could tip and roll a XC90 quicker than and XC or V70...just because of the higher center of gravity.
