Any news out there on the headroom & legroom fro the front seats? My hubby is 6'7" and I'm really limited in the vehicle selection - we've test drove the xc70 and the leg room was great but the head room could have been a little better - - so my hope is that the xc90 will have a little more headroom - - any news out there about this?

Thinking of putting down a deposit to order one...

Sorry about the dimensions being metric, but that's the way they were posted. There are metric converter ( search google). The leg room works out to abot 42-43". just a little more than my ML.

Check your spec again please

Headroom, front 1008mm
is just too large a value.

The total height (from ground) of X90 is only
1783 mm.

On the german Volvo website headroom is quoted as 1019mm
(the XC70 is listed as 927mm).
Do the germans get a taller car or do they use different yardsticks?

Of course, headroom could be less if you have "electric" seats since the drive system takes some place. A sun roof also takes a few cm.
My bloodpressure rises when I see the drawings since they show something I can't buy. Volvo Begium has decided they won't offer the 5-seater (it is available in most European counties), forcing me to pay for a third row.

hi Willy,
I wouldn't be suprised if the difference is the sunroof. Standard in the US but an option in most of Europe http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

I've testdrived the car and beeing 6'7" myself I can only say that there is plenty of room in this car.

And yes, the car is the best ever from Volvo http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Willy,

This may be stating the obvious, but why don't you just buy a 5-seater version from somewhere else in Europe which does sell them - you will find Denmark particularly cheap due to the high VAT there.

I'm 6'0" and sat in one today. Plenty of leg and headroom for people taller than me. And I also found the rear (2nd row) seat comfy. Overall first impression, well done Volvo! Sadly I didn't have time for a test drive.
