Hi all
My 2004 has a rattle on the front passenger side when going down the dirt road to town. Did a bit of research, found that most likely it was the spring seat. Replaced both front struts, spring seats, strut bearing mounts, bumpers and boots. The rattle is still there and seems a bit worse since the new struts. Any suggestions on what else it could be or should look at?
Thanks Brad

You didn’t post the mileage but regardless of that, first thing I would suspect would be sway bar endlinks which it doesn’t look like you replaced. On higher mileage cars, I would also look at the sway bar bushes.

Good luck,

Bill

Nope didn't replace the links. Car has near 220,000 miles. One on passenger side has been replaced, no telling how long ago. It has grease zerks. Other side no zerks. Will do that next and maybe the bushings.
Thanks Brad

My experience is that the endlinks make more noise than anything else when they're gone. They're a relatively easy and inexpensive fix. I can't comment on the sway bar bushing job as I've never tried to change them.

I'm about to do a sway bar bushing replacement, I have the bushings now but haven't yet attempted the repair. I had a slight rattling sound and my sway bushings are quite loose, end links are about 15,000 miles old.

Take a look at the tie rod ends as well for that kind of noise.

How dangerous is to ignore those kinds of noises? I'm just curious.

Could cause fatal accident if suspension or steering parts fail. Yes, dangerous to ignore.

That was the problem. Thanks all. The one end of the link on the side making noise was good, other end was shot .
