Just had the transmission rebuilt in my "other" vehicle - the '87 Chevy K5 Blazer 4x4.  It's been out of service since early December.  Since "the behemoth" is not my daily driver - I usually only drive it on the weekends - I need to "break-in" the new tranny (TH700-R4).  I need to put two to three hundred miles on it, then take it back to the shop to get a "check-up".  They'll make adjustments and tweak it as needed.  And since I don't have a real long commute to work - 4-1/2 miles each way - it'll take me several weeks to put that many miles on the transmission.

I'm really gonna miss the V70 XC!  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I think I can relate... close relatives are in the area for two weeks from out of state to see a medical specialist.  I loaned them my 2000 XC.  In the meantime, I've been getting re-aquainted with my first baby, a '92 Jeep Wrangler trail rig with a mild lift and 33s.  I can't wait to get my new baby back.

Welcome on board Slacker, it is a shame you have to 'lose' you baby for a few weeks but think how much more informed you will be with the car when you get it back, because you can sit and read all about the trials and tribs that others members have here instead.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Welcome slacker!  I see you have the same car.  Good choice!   http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif What color scheme do you have?  I have the Metallic Emerald Green with beige leather interior.  I haven't driven it since Friday morning and I'm going through withdrawls already!  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

My K5 isn't a true "trail rig", but I use it for the deep woods excursions to the hunt/fish/camp sites, so I put on a set of Interco TruXus 33's.  They're great on real sloppy trails and snow.  They're surprisingly quiet on the highway too.  I admit that I had to do a little fender trimming to get them on with a stock suspension, but I didn't realize at the time that I had saggy spring syndrome.  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif  I was hoping to put on a 4-inch suspension lift this spring, but the tranny costs got in the way.  Maybe in the fall in time for deer season... http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Thanks for the welcome!! I've already learned a lot about my XC70 and this forum's already saved me some $$$... I read that the factory roof rack's actually a Thule rack. This weekend I bought the feet, lock cores and load bars for my wagon on eBay for $50 less than retail.

Bluegrass, mine's moondust with the graphite (I believe it's graphite, dark gray) leather interior. I've only had her since xmas. Aside from an annoying squeaking from the steering column after I extended the telescoping steering wheel the first time, I love the thing... I'm going to post that question along with another soon.

Thanks again.
