I own a 98' XC and am looking to buy another one. The one I purchased has had nothing but problems thanks to previous owners and shotty workmanship. But what are the differences in the 98-00 models of XCs? Were XCs made in 97'? And do the Ford made Volvos have any integrity or worth?
thanks abunch, i appreciate anyone who can can shed some light for me.

Hi, Robert, and welcome to the site. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

It would be easier to answer your question if we knew where in the world you are and what generation of XC you are looking to purchase now; another first generation or a second generation from 2001. Maybe a new one?

If you buy a new one the most significant difference is the adoption of the Haldex four wheel drive system as opposed to Viscous Coupling.
