Picked up three jugs of this stuff yesterday at sale price of $22.49 for 5 liters = $4.50 a liter which is considerably less expensive than Toyota T-IV (low stock level at nearest Toyota dealer) or Mobil ATF 3309 (discontinued in my local store). Others have written about it on this forum and have used it apparently without issue.

Label says "For transmissions where Toyota T-III and T-IV, Honda ATF-Z1, Nissan Matic-D, -J and -K, as well as Volvo and Mercedes Benz 236.9 and 236.10 are specified".

Could be Mobil 1 in reality. I know that their synthetic gear lube is and I heard that their synthetic motor oil is as well.

Cheers,

Bill

Just looked at the MSDS sheets and it appears to be a Shell product. My local store used to carry the Mobil 3309 but it is now discontinued.

Also, their MSDS look up page, http://canadiantire.wercsmart.com/sdsviewer allows you to search by supplier or product name. I get nothing when I search for Mobil. When I search for synthetic gear oil, I get various products from Shell, Citgo and Lucas.

Maybe their relationship with Exxon Mobil has ended?

Good info. Wouldn't surprise me if they have switched as my info was probably 10 years old. Just like Wallymart, they probably go to who can provide them with product at the best deal. Or do they go to multiple sources; in which case, is the product quality equivalent?

I looked up the old Formula 1 motor oil line and they mention Sopus Products along with Shell, Pennzoil and Quaker State. So I look it up and find that Sopus Products is Quaker State who is Pennzoil who is Royal Dutch Shell. Ah, the world of multi-nationals and the global economy.

Cheers,

Bill
