After 13 years of faithful service, our xc70 was killed yesterday when a drunk driver rear ended it doing 35-45mph possibly more.
Our car stopped at red light.
Since its the wife's car, we've talked abit about what we feel comfortable going to replace it with.
Thinking a lightly used xc60 is going to replace it.

I'm just glad she's OK! (And she is, right? Because you didn't specify..)

You remind me of why my wife has a Volvo in the first place.

I like the XC-60. It's a sharp looking car. Very uniquely Volvo in its styling, and a nice driving vehicle.

Good luck!

She's fine. We were in bed when we got the call after midnight.
My son was in it and he's fine to.

Sorry to see this, glad she's OK.
You seem to like white cars but my wonderful black 06 is for sale.
(Please see it in the classifieds here).
She's ready to drive literally anywhere, and needs nothing

THAT'S why you drive a Volvo!
No injuries! The 2003 XC70 did it's job.
I just spent $3KUSD rehabbing my 2003 XC70, I hope it will protect me if required in the future.-Richard

We bought a 14 xc60 T6 today. Take delivery as soon as we can get the plates off the xc70 and they've added a dog guard to it.

NO! XC60 has too stiff suspension, bad seats and a very strange handling. I would not buy XC60 even for wife unless she insists on a white Volvo SUV no matter what.

She loved it the moment she got behind the wheel.

I'd forgotten about this thread until a few moments ago.. Posted when we rented an XC60 diesel in England. http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?24462-Renting-an-XC60-D5-Diesel

Glad no injuries. How many miles did you have on the car?

126k. forward of the D pillar its pretty good. So who ever buys this gets a ton of good parts. Heck I even left the original timing belt in it three years ago when I did that.
