View Full Version : Turbo Oil Supply Pipe Failure?

Just had a significant oil leak develop that looks to be a cracked turbo oil supply pipe on my '02. In the undertray, I found a rusted and broken remnant of a retaining clip that looks to have been used to retain a pipe about the same diameter as the supply pipe. At this point I suspect that the clip broke allowing the pipe to vibrate enough to fracture. First question then is has anyone encounter anything similar? And second question, any R&R procedures or words of wisdom on changing this thing out. Looks to be nice and tight in there with one end right around the crank pulley end of the block and the other up on the turbo housing. I foresee a few scraped knuckles and scratched up forearms. Good thing is that the pipe (#8642184) looks to be only a bit around $50 USD.

Anyway, anything anyone might have on this will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Bill
