Hey everyone,
I’m in the market for a used car, and I really like the XC70…currently looking at 2007 & 2008 models which are what I can reasonably afford. Are there any major differences between the ’07 & ’08 models?

This would be my first Volvo, and I’m not seeing much available locally right now. I’m no car expert, so I’m a little uneasy about the Ebay route. Should I have a local dealer try to find a used model for me, exactly what I’m looking for? Other options? Do most of you have the car inspected by a mechanic before purchasing? New to the car buying world.

Appreciate any help.
Thanks!

'08 is the the first year of the new generation XC70 so the differences are fairly dramatic. I've always like the older ("P2", 2001-2007) style more but that's just me.

I bought mine from JRL here on the forum and had him ship it from Pennsylvania to Washington.

Always have a car inspected before purchase. I'd be looking for low mileage 06 07 xc70 with documented service history.

08-10 are pretty lame
In 2011 Volvo made some major mechanical changes
All depends on how much you want to spend
