I am getting ready to drop my oil pan. In the link below is the gasket kit I got from FCP. I am not clear if it includes the oil pump gaskets and everything I need to drop and clean the pan. I don't want to get it apart and find out I am missing something. The second link shows another gasket for the oil pump and there is also an oring listed....

Do I need to order anything else or am I good?

Vida shows the 8648358 as being for earlier cars, up to 2000 (with some exceptions). You don't need the 1275404 oil pump gasket (unless you just really want to take the front of the engine apart to get the oil pump out) and the 1275404 comes with the correct oring kit.

When I clean or replace an oil pan on a 2001 and up car i use:
30750783 oring kit
30637339 x 2 orings for the oil cooler to pan
1161059 or generic flange sealant, oil filter and drain plug washer. (+oil :) )

I have seen many clogged oil pick up tubes (with problems even after cleaning) so i usually change the metal oil pickup tube to the new plastic design
30650552, and that may require 2 different length bolts
98277 x 2 (7x25mm)

OK Thanks. Looks like I need to go back to the parts bin. FCP euro shows that gasket kit fitting my car as a "gauranteed fit" Weird.......

Another question. Does the gasket sealer go on as a thin skinny bead or smeared along the mounting face? I understand you want to be careful not to use too much.....

I use a tiny paint roller to spread an even coat on cam covers and oil pans, Volvo sells a small roller - tool 951-2767,

Thanks. Parts to be picked up at the Volvo dealer tomorrow AM. Will see if they have that roller in stock.

UPDATE

OK....Pan is off, installing new pick up, although the old one is identical I had it anyway...But a couple of questions:

When installing the new pick-up should I use loctite on the bolts to be sure they don't vibrate lose into the pan? -I Used Loctite
When applying the Volvo Gasket sealant, do you wait for it to tack up at all or just put it on and install? I have a little foam roller from volvo for it-Additional Research Said No
When replacing the pan bolts it seems like there was thread locker on them when they came off...should I use thread locker on re-install? -I Used Loctite
How do you hold the o ring gaskets in place? a little gasket tack? touch of the volvo sealer? No way the pan is going back on without those being held in place somehow - Vaseline, they will not drop or move, very secure.

Research says you can drive it after a 1/2 hour. I waited about 45 minutes/hr and started it to see if there were any initial leaks. Will take it for a drive in another 2 hrs and check again before I put the bottom cover back on.
