View Full Version : Trunk Lamp Replacement With A Different Wiring Format
7630 7631
The trunk has the lamp with a Brown and White wires connecting to the lighting.
Would I be able to replace it with another (third-party) lamp with three wires, Red, Black and Yellow wires?
If yes, please how?
Thanks.
Actually, it is meant for the dome, which will be On/Off/Auto. In this case, I don't need the On/Off, just need it controlled
like the trunk lamp to come on when the trunk door is opened and goes off automatically after the set time just like the
OEM lamp does.

In the diagram 10/25 is the light in the tailgate area, with a white and a brown wire going to it. 10/150 is the light above the rear seats, 3/117 is the front dome light module. Power the for rear and cargo lights comes through the upper electronic module (the control unit inside the rear view mirror). Logic may come from the uem, dome light module or the CEM - In other words you are not going to easily be able to change how any of those lights function.
