My 1999 has 108000 miles and needs rear shocks. The dealeer wants $450 each plus labor. Any help will be appreciated.

My older wagon, an 89 765, has autoleveling shocks. When you load up for a trip the rear will sag an inch or so but after driving about 10 miles they will pump up to bring the car level. They work great and do cost more. Check and see if yours are autolevleing. I do not know if they are on the XCs.

It is possible the XC70's is fitted with autoleveling rear shocks. I think this is "extra equipment".
How do you see the difference between an auto leveling shok and an ordinary one?
