I just recently purchased a 98 XC, having been an owner of 4x4 trucks and SUV’s I have a good understanding of how that type of 4x4 system works, but as for the XC I would like to find out more about its transmission. Does anyone know of any links, etc. that explains what happens when W is selected and a more in depth info on the TRACS system.

W starts the tranny in 3rd gear to minimize wheel spin and is only for starting out in snow.
TRACS use the ABS to shift traction to the wheel that is not slipping/spinning
