Need to put some winter tires on my 05 XC70. I am going to use some oem 16" rims. Thinking about going 235/60R/16 tires. It really does not snow that often here but will make some runs to Vermont for ski trips with my boys. I was thinking about going with General AltiMAX RT43 tires. Really want some tires that will perform on cold dry and wet conditions with occasional light snow. It does get cold here, but not like the NE or Canada. Any comments will be great. Thanks for all the support.

Narrow tires perform better in snow than wider tires, but if you don't need to deal with much snow then wider tires will be fine. I have General Altimax Artic 215/65 and they work very well. This will be my last season on them, next season I'll have 17"s and I'll get 215/60s for winters, 235/55 for summers.

I've heard good things about the RT43, and I know Astro has them on his XC all season. Maybe he'll chime in.

I wouldn't worry too much about it especially this El Nino year.
So Jersey usually does not get much snow and it's as flat as Nebraska.
RT All seasons will be fine
