this is why i want a XC70, beside looking great I wnat to see if i can raise it, not to monster truck height, but high enough where I'll probably need a nerf bar to get in and out... has anyone seen this done, or done any research on this, if so hit me back i would love to hear some options, opinions, and ideas. thanks.

Here's a photo from the Brickboard last year. Don't remember any details but, hey, you could see over the Hummers and F350s!

I have an 850 AWD and want to raise mine up a little, nothing as extreme as this http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/exclamation.gif . I was looking at getting maybe an extra 50mm clearance. Has anyone had any joy in doing this.

OK...now here is where I have done my homework. 1998-2000 no can do as to lifting. Not with out major suspension redesign and installation.

2001+ Already have a 8.5 ground clearance (as per Volvo) and with 1998-2000 XC Alloy wheels (which fit as I have found) you could fit BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires (the smallest one they offer for a 15in rim).

I prefer the Gen1 XC with the auto-locking rear diff (and it HAS come in handy here in California lately). But really wish I had more clearance as well.

So now that there are 3 of us that want more...who knows what we could do.....
