Where is the Cabin Air Filter located and how do you change it?

Nice post. Especially for a newby. Very Direct.
The search feature works very well.
Try this:
Pollen Filter Replacement (http://xc70.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=275;hl=cabin+air+filter )
Took these pics a while back during my own search for the filter location. Never thought that they would come in handy. Hope they help you along. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
With a little fanagling, the cover is easily removed.

It helps to have a stubby torx driver in removing the 2 screws at the rear of the panel covering the filter closest to the pull tabs. The one provided in your tool kit is slightly long.

most definintely, thanks Art!
I hope to build out the resource section once I've completed migrating the new interface design throughout the rest of the site.

Great pics, Thanks for the info.
I the reason I'm checking the filter is I have noticed a funny smell when I first turn on the A/C. I'm hope'n not to find it wet with radiator fluid.
What should I expect to pay for a new filter?
Dealers here in Canada sell the filters (Part # 9204626) for around $30.00 Cdn. Volvo recommends replacing them every 24,000 km or sooner depending on the driving conditions. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Is this on the regular service schedule if that's the Volvo recommendation? If so, why are you doing it yourselves? Just curious...
Apparently so, however, upon closer inspection, I discovered that the service techs neglected to replace it. Assuming it was an oversight on their part, I figured that it was an easy enough operation that I could perform on my own. Hopefully, the pics will be somewhat of a reminder for those wishing to do the same down the road. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
