I'm not experiencing this issue, but it sounds like it's not uncommon. Keep tabs on the following thread for more info as it becomes available: http://www.v70xc.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=192 (http://www.v70xc.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=192).
Oh and by the way, welcome to the site! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hope it will take your worries away
Hi Coastal & Len, Thanks for your help. I will call my dealer tomorrow. I just picked up the car on 02-14 and it has only 50 miles on it but the car take some times to get going. When it does start the fuel put makes a load whiny sound. Thanks again koam

Don't know if this is related, but my car has a "cold start" problem on really frosty mornings. I am investigating purchasing the engine block heater. Also, on the "whiny" sound, Volvo has a regulator which doesn't allow the car to get up to full engine load when the engine is cold. It's in the owner's manual. Could this be your noise?

Having the same issue. Takes about 5-7 seconds for the car to finally kick over. Longer on a cold morning. Does anyone know if the systems needs to prime itself. Like turning the key, but not all the way?
Ash 02....
Hi All, I called my dealer today and they told me that it is normal for it to take some time to start. I also asked if it got better with time and he said no:(
