Last summer when I was diagnosing a faulty ETM on my '04 XC70 I came across a thread with a link to a place that sold used ones that were a reasonable price. I can't find the site or even the thread for the life of me. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I found it by searching the code the car was throwing, but can't get that code again either. Starting to drive me crazy, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Or you can buy a Bosch unit which is the OEM.

FYI: It's called a ETA (electronic throttle actuator) and any ETA will bolt on without the need for software downloads.

I have a 2001 and purchased a rebuilt unit from Xemodex. It was plug and play. Gave then my vin and software came preloaded. Aside from trying to get my 10 pound hands into a 5 pound space it was an "easy" swap. They overnighted from Canada for $50. Not sure they handle the 2004 model but suspect they might. PM me if you have any questions, happy to help.

01 is an ETM (module) completely different. Xemodex does not service ETAs.

The late 02 and up throttles rarely go bad.

Had a 08 s60t w/49000 miles (same throttle as yours) in recently with multiple recurring throttle codes (9200,9220,925c,92cd,950c,9210,9270). Codes would come back after erasure and car would stall eratically (sp). Same symptoms with a new throttle actuator. Replacing the actuator harness plug with new connectors inside (and reinstalling the original throttle) appeared to solve the code setting/stalling. Used 6 30656679 repair terminals and a 9441564 throttle connector.
