I broke a heater hose connection to the firewall while replacing my heater core. I cannot see where the hoses connect to the block from above or below, does anyone know which way is easiest and what needs to be removed to replace them? I am going to replace both while I'm there
This is on a 2001 v70XC

Really? All those views and no one has an answer?

Did the plastic housing break or the o ring?
I have been fortunate to not have to do the repair.
Though I have seen photos on how to do it on swedespeed.

Wish I could be more useful!

Best of luck

The end of the hose, the plastic fitting fell apart when I tried to take it off. I cut the ends off and put a piece of copper pipe between the hoses, bypassing the heater core. Now I need to replace the hoses but I'm having a hard time finding where they attach to the engine. I cannot find where anyone has replaced them.

One attaches to the block below the end of the camshafts (#5 end), the other to the water pipe on the back/right side of engine that goes to the water pump near the turbo - they are buried but easy to get to after removing stuff (air filter housing, air pipe to turbo, etc)
