Thermostat replacement

so with a heater core replacement on the horizon I am contemplating on replacing the thermostat and hoses to give the system a fresh start. All that I am seeing on fcpeuro and ipd are the full kit for just over $100. Is there anywhere that sells just the thermostat and is there a reason why I should replace the whole housing?
