Boxing Day day trip to Kananaskis Counrty

We had company over Christmas so on Boxing Day (December 26) we did a quick trip to the Nakiska ski hill area in Kananaskis Country. We ended up at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, didn't actually go to the ski hill (where the 1988 Olympics skiing happened). Wondered around the hotel and shops area and some of the trails in the area.

For the last couple of days it has felt like we are 'frying' in 40C with no wind to help cool it down!

Like the 'Gingerbread Village' but to eat a slice with those ingredients in would send my cholesterol level through the roof, but it looks good!

You are welcome to it and the temperatures that go with it. This last week we 10-15 degrees and lost most of the snow we had. Yesterday we went back to minus 10-15 and snow.
40 is a bit (read way to high) much for me. You should think of this as getting the full Moroccan desert experience. Then hope it cools down. A lot.

We have got the 'Moroccan Desert Experience' each time we have been over, but for us it comes in two forms....

1) The nice days which are Hotter than back in the UK, and there have been more of them this time! [thumbup]

2) All the Sahara Sand & Dust that gets into both the 'TinTent' and 'Flamenco Red' but it was worse in the 'TinTent' due to all the holes they forgot to seal up when it was built!

At least with 'Flamemco Red' the rubber seals around the doors keep it out, but this time the engine compartment looks lime it has been hit with a bag of dirty flour! [mad2]

At least with fresh snow your Volvo can stay clean!

The snow is clean enough. It is the gravel and salt that gets dumped on the roads that puts a good coat of grime on the car.

I wouldn't mind that as with a bucket of warm water and a soft sponge you can wash that lot off.

When we got the mud/road dirt attached as we travelled it took warm water and a scrubbing brush to shift it! [nonono] [cussing]
The stuff was as hard as the walls of the houses & Casbah's they built over 300 years ago over here!

At the top of the list of jobs when we get back is a total polishing exercise for the whole bodywork!

Ps. As you didn't fancy going on the Skis, did you consider taking a black plastic bag to sit on and have a bit of fun sliding down one of the lower slopes! :D
