rubber hose costing £8 has kept me from using the car because I could not put more than 3 litters of fuel in the tank. Every Volvo Dealer I have spoken with insisted the whole rear suspension and drive train needed to come down for starters, to provide access to the filler tube parts. I looked myself and with rear right wheel removed, the hose could just be seen, at least in part. The quotes for this, heavily qualified with ifs and buts, started out at £650. Squire Automotive Services Ltd in Burntwood Staffordshire did the job for half the money and without dropping everything. They also changed the timing belt, serpentine and alternator pulley and regassed the air con and removed stop neutral all for £1200. The two Volvo dealers local to me didn't even return my calls, so I will not be going there in future! The guys at Squire Automotive say that in more than twenty years they have only ever seen this hose fail once before!
