Has anyone tried using synthetic transmission fluid in an attempt to solve the common shifting/slipping/clunking/missing 3rd gear problems associated with the XC70 transmissions?
We have 2 2001 XC70s. One developed shifting delays and clunks at around 82000 miles. The dealer replaced a valve assembly for about $600. It helped for a little while. We are driving the car and letting off the gas before it shifts into 3rd.
The other XC70 has 102000 miles and has not had a transmission problem.
