I am planing to buy a XC70 and was wondering how the car will
behave in hot climates where the temperature during the day stays
above 40 degrees Celcius (105F) for a couple of months per year?

Does the motor will get overheated or other problems will appear?

Does any body has any experience?

Thanks

Can't say that I have experienced 105F for several months, but we have had those temps for approx a week at a time.  No apparent problems with overheating even in traffic jams with the air conditioner on full.  Temp needle never budged from its normal position (straight up).

You might want to keep an eye on www.edmunds.com. Last winter, they ran a piece on the XC70 in Alaska, and indicated that there would be a follow-up summer test-drive in Baja California. I believe this was a Volvo-sponsored event - so don't expect too much hard-hitting journalism - but there might be some useful points there. At least the edmunds article was better than one that appeared on msn.com, as reviewed in this thread (http://xc70.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=175)...

High Texas heat, not problems at all.  Never goes above the mid-point.
