On my 2000 S80 clearing the computer display readout (e.g., resetting the average MPG display) was almost instantaneous. On my '03 XC70 I notice there's quite a time delay in comparison. What do others observe?

I'm wondering if it's related to my XC70 having the Volvo Nav System as my S80 didn't have that optional feature.

I'd say my XC70 display reset takes on the order of about 2-3 secs.

As another data point my S60R takes about the same time as my XC70 and it has the Nav Sys and OnCall SOS features.

This is no big deal other than my wife impatiently saying as we get ready to move away from the gas pump -- "what are you fiddling with..." http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif. She never ever made this comment in the S80 !

Yes, it takes a few seconds. I also didn't realize until recently that you have to be displaying the parameter of interest in order to reset it. Holding "reset" while average speed is displayed will reset average speed, but average MPG remains unchanged.

A few moments as well on both our cars ('01 & '02).  I think the delay is intentional so one can not accidentally erase/reset your averages.  What year is your S80?  I wonder if this is one of those many minute updates that happen as a platform ages.

I just noticed what year your S80 is.  "DUH" on me!  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif
