I thought that I'd drop a link for some awesome aftermarket mats & liners here. I have used weathertech canon floor mats for roughly 9 years and can attest to their ability to hold a lot of water/snow and keep your feet from sitting in the water unlike the plastic tray type. They're really durable. In fact, I'm just now replacing a pair that are close to 7 years old. You plug in the model and year of your car and you get a set that fit perfectly.

I have to thank Gundo for the mats http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif, as I was all set to buy his cargo liner, which is a great deal by the way, but my wife said she wanted the liner to match the interior, and while I was at it to get new floor mats, too.

BTW, Barry they have a pet container thing which may be the solution which you are looking for.

Great site, and they have Bilstein shocks at good prices! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Do you think that woman holding the WeatherTech RackSack is 7ft tall, BTW? http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh2.gif http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yah there's a sidenote somewhere that she is from the Amazon and was scouted/recruited for the WNBA. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
I'm only 5'10 and it never occurs to me to load my roof box with a step stool. I always end up standing on the rear tire or on the rear seat. Someday, probably after a fall with gear that results in pain/injury, I'll have the presence of mind to use a step stool like the lady in the photo.

I vouch for these great products too. I have a pair of black fronts used in my previous Volvo- they look brand new after 3 years. Excellent! When the new Volvo matts begin to crack (the Cannon rubber is at least 3 times as thick as Volvo rubber mats) I'll be buying a tan set of Cannon/Weathertech.

FYI: I'll put my black ones up for sale in Gundo's post thread. They'll make a nice combo for someone.

Gee- a step stool, it took a more intelligent creature than a man to figure that out I bet... http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Me too. In fact I was washing the car yesterday and as I hoisted myself up on the rear tire (using that handy roof rail - yet another use for it) to work on the roof I was thinking that, well, this can't be very good for the tire, and why didn't I bring my step stool? http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif

My Dad loves that chick...she appears in the ads in the back pages of just about every car magazine published.

FYI,

Weathertech, Located in Downers Grove, IL is a couple of miles from me. I go there for headlights and brake pads as well as the mats. Good bunch of people. The women in the photo is the owners wife and the kids are his kids. FYI.

Thanks for that consideration. However, my plan at this time is to attach the two dogs (they weigh from 15 to 17 lbs) to a 6-8 foot leash that will be tethered to the two rear cargo hooks/links. This will give them plenty of slack moving about the cargo area with vertical nylon netting in place, and if they decide to jump as the hatch lid is opened they can reach the ground without being strangled.

When I take the dogs out my voice seems to be enough to control the two dogs from leaping out but my wife doesn't have this same controlling voice and requires the assurance of some restraining device http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Has anyone used the WeatherFlectors (for the side windows)on the XC70 that are offered by Weathertech? What are your thoughts on this product? Anyone got a picture of an XC70 with these installed?

I see they also offer something called LampGard for the headlights and fog lights.Has anyone used that particular product?

Here you go Gary. Can't say that I really go for the looks, but that they probably do serve a good purpose in terms of increasing air circulation in the car and for deflecting away snow/rain. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks Art. I'm not so sure I'm so keen on the looks either.
I'll have to mull it over some more...
