DIM got dim

My '02 has had the "racing clock" syndrome for some time and then the outside temperature quit working so I figured the DIM was slowly going. Today it does not work at all- no dash lights, no gauges moving, nothing at all. I checked the 10a fuse and it is intact, so my guess is the DIM is done for. Is there anything else I can check to verify the DIM is out? If it is out, I plan to send to Xemodex as their rebuild/repair is a lot less expensive than going to a dealer.

You can always buy a used one and bring it to an Indy mech and have the odometer corrected to match your mileage.

I figured it being a Volvo I would get a warning light on my DIM notifying me my DIM was out ;).
