Hi Guys,
Not sure if this is connected to the previous O2 faults i have been having, anyway bit of history. the car is a 98 V70 XC, the missus took a shortcut through a field and hit a relatively big ditch which wasn't there the week before, the car ended up with half the field underneath it and the other half on the bumper. Since then we have been having a P0172 fault, took out both the O2 sensors and they were black as and badly fouled.
I have since replaced them with 2 bosch sensors, repaired/ replaced the cracked pipe about 15mm wide from PCV box to air intake , cleaned and repaired the 6mm pipe from the intake manifold to the air intake beside the 15mm one, which made a difference, cleaned out the valve as it was blocked which these pipes connect to. and with in about 200KM the fault came back. I have sprayed liberal amounts of carby cleaner around the engine bay with no joy.
Is there something i'm missing??? I have a feeling the shunt caused this problem but i cannot put my finger on it, i have read about the temp sensor and the valve on the fuel rail can cause similar faults, is this true, also the MPG have gone through the roof, well doubled.
Any help or points would be appreciated to try and eradicate the problem. One thing i forgot is there is a small white pipe coming from what could be the gear box?? and it is not connected to anything and dose not look like it should be, is this a breather?? or should it be connected to something?.
Many Regards Gavin
