My 2001 XC has been experiencing rough shifts from park to drive and from park to reverse for quite a while. This problem is more intensified when my XC is not on level ground. I have flushed my transmission fluid (Mobile 3309) every summer hoping this would help this shifting issue, but with no improvement. I recently replaced the front transmission mount with a new IPD Hutchinson Transmission mount and this shifting problem has improved significantly. I noticed that the small bushing on the Hutchinson mount had a great deal more movement in it, than the old mount that I replaced. The old mount was very rigid and the new mount had some give in it to allow for movement.
