Hey fellow bricksters and XC'ers,

I had the dealer install the clear headlamp protection guards on my '01 XC. However, I forgot to ask him to adjust the headlights (I would take my car back to them but I live 40 miles one way). Does anybody know how to adjust them? They're very different than the Hella's on my '98 XC; and I can't make heads or tails of what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to v70xc.com! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Im not sure how to adjust the headlights (never tried).

But, as far as I know, Volvo designs them to pull slightly off to the right, especially the high beams. They do this to be less intrusive to oncoming traffic.

Just thought I'd add that in case you had concerns over what was in fact a feature. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'll try and take a picture when I get back to town. That should be easier than trying to describe "the little doo-hicky on the back." I've messed with them a little when I was upgrading bulbs (and trying a HID upgrade that I didn't keep -- the reflectors just blind everyone and you have a bulb-out light all the time).

Ok, better late then never (hopefully). Here's a picture of the adjustment knobs on the driver-side headlight cluster -- I'm unaware of the ability to adjust low and high beams seperately. The two white knobs adjust the X and Y planes -- get ready to dust off your Etch-A-Sketch skills!

Thanks Adam.

I'll try it out and let you know how it works out on the message board.
