I need the chassis code (the bottom line on your VIN plate)

I have one of those, but interestingly, the bottom of my metal VIN plate (under the hood on the drivers side) has nothing but an empty silver (metal of course) block. What is the format of the number in question, I can look for that pattern on the plate or VIN sticker on the rear door sill.

It should be on your plate
What's on your bottom row?
It may be one up from the actual bottom
The top is the VIN
The second line is your paint and trim codes
and the next line should have a bunch of numbers

IIRC it's 6 or 7 letters and numbers (maybe 8)!

OK, here we go. Note this is the PLATE under the hood, not the sticker on the door. Things within ' ' are painted.

The sticker on the door has a 7 digit number at the bottom: 3514635. But I think that's a part number.

The 1214 # is your chassis code
Apparently there are 8 digit and 12 digit chassis code, you have a 12 digit (I called Volvo)

What year is your AWD?
