Folks

I listen to a couple of NPR stations locally -- one completely chat/news based and the other is completely classical music.  I would like to get the maximum  enjoyment from  both stations, but have no idea on how to configure the four amp outputs of my HU-613.  Any suggestions?

I set all 6 values {low, med, high}X{front, back} to level three by using the source+volume trick.   I was wondering if a different combination, such as strong bass (low frequencies -- 6) for the back speakers and strong treble for front speakers would be more appropriate, while setting the fader to be equally distributed between front and rear.

thanks
Purush

I wish I could help you out there purush! I haven't taken the time to have a close look at those settings. I also have the 613 complemented with the 4X50Watt amplifier and the upgraded speaker set. I must admit I'm pretty happy the way it sounds right now, so I never really felt the need to manipulate those settings.
I suggest to use the fader to focus on the sound you like for front and rear independently. Once you're happy with the way the front and rear speakers sound, adjust the fader to get the balance between front and rear you like. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/music.gif

Good luck and I'm open for feedback on this http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

I have found excellent results with the following eq settings, which provide some bass, but not enought to cause distortion or vibration and provide more clarity to the high end.  I keep the treb/bass centered and the fader just slightly favoring the rear speakers.

FRONT
low 1: 1
low 2: 2
med: 3
high: 5

REAR
low: 2
med: 3
high: 6

Does anyone that had an approx 92 saab, remember the great functionality that had 4 programmable memory button settings for the 12 band equalizer.  That was a great feature and an incredible factory stereo.  Hard to believe it was made by clarion.

I've always wondered what the low2 setting is for.
