My Buddy Mike the audio Tech helped to get the radio/CD player out of my '03 XC70, and emptied out ( 3 CDs jammed into the single slot, and about 4 bucks in change. 2 year olds sure get into a lot of mischief when Mom isn't around eh?) When all was reassembled, the CD player still worked (YA!!!) but now this Airbag Fault message is happening.

I also got the AOC pump and sensor installed, differential fluid topped up ( it was down to half???) and tomorrow, I am getting the back brakes done, and picking up the bran' new rubber and 4 stock XC70 rims I bought from Chapman's Volvo wrecking on Vancouver Island. (they sell all parts for 1/2 of original price...)

I look forward to the drive tomorrow night! New brakes/rubber/AND all wheel drive working!

I AM still getting used to how much gas this thing goes through though!

Also, can someone clue me in on this 'G Force' chip that is being advertised? What exactly does it do? I certainly do NOT need more horsepower....

Dealer to reset the SRS light ( You ALWAYS need to disconnect the battery before pulling a radio or CCM)
G Force is a SCAM

If the ignition is turned on while the climate module is unplugged an srs error message will be stored. The srs module is in series in the CAN network after the climate module, and that circuit was broken by unplugging the ccm. I normally use Vida to read and erase the codes but a snap on Solus scan tool I have is capable to doing that also.
I believe the G force scam is a device plugged in series with your engine temp sensor. I imagine it makes your ecu think the engine is a different temp and consequently will change the fuel mixture. IMHO the best way to get more power (and well worth it if thats what you like) is an ecu reprogram from a reputable company such as IPD or ARD tuning.

FYI, there is a proper power down+up sequence when removing the CCM in the future. Quite a few people have brick it doing it improperly.

Might want to invest in a VIDA/DiCE diag tool (Chinese clone of factory tool, ~$150 online) and clear the SRS code yourself. You do quite a bit of DIY and should pay for itself.

I get almost 23mpg in suburban roads without too much stop and go with a light foot. Close to 30 if purely on highway and staying at say 65mph. I hear in city stop and go mileage are pretty bad. People have reported ARD's Orange tune gets +2-3 mpg. Here is a discussion thread on that and how it gets better mpg

Thanks Howard and Hoonke. The nearest Volvo Service centre is a short 10 hour drive away, Howard, can you link me to the diagnostic tool you mentioned? And , I would imagine, this is the only way I can fix this in my current situation? What do ya think?

Another choice is if you have a independent repair shop near you with VIDA DiCE. Anyway, the clones goes for $100-$130. Here is the ebay search

Here is the google shopping search

Everyone get this one

Not sure anyone tried the MVCI (with red handles) so you might want to avoid that one.

I had a SRS light due to broken clock spring when I did the steering rack replacement. My VIDA/DiCE cleared the light once I got the clock spring replaced.
