Getting codes 1238 and 1332 together with cel coming on with p1332 but no difference in running. P1238 doesn't bring on light but makes it run roughly or cut out. What should I do first to fix it myself ?
Please note new poster. Be gentle

also this to add: cruise control works intrermittently : cruise lights up and press+ then cruise goes off and sometimes works no problem.
first thing after running for 5/10 minutes car runs erratically and message : reduced performance appears, you can switch off and start again and it will run fine. anybody have any ideas. the car is a 2001 xc70 2.5 petrol.
any information gratefully received.
also any 1 know the best solution for replacing self levelling rear shocks?

Someone else had a similar problem... http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?11918-random-codes-p0013-p1238-p1332

Probably a good place to start.

Start with vacuum lines as these control the cruise. Are you sure it is a 2.5 2001 xc? Most, if not all, were 2.4's, not a big problem, just might make it easier searching for help.
Other items that can cause this are bad plugs, coils, Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF), Throttle Body (ETM), exhaust solenoid (CVVT). After checking for leaks or perished hoses, start with volvo plugs, Cheap fix, make sure they are gapped correctly. Oil is very important in these cars so make sure you run it clean and run it synthetic. Hope this helps, have recently been through this myself and it ended up being the CVVT.

I've got a P1238 code, and online, most references say it is a turbo issue, but my code reader is very specific and says it is an open circuit at the #2 cyl fuel injector. My symptom is rough starting.
