As a relative newbie to Volvo and this list, I've been impressed with the available information on this website with regards to software updates and Vadis optimization codes. I have experienced "throttle lag," "shift flare", odometer resetting, and would like my seats a little warmer. I have been collecting all the specific codes and service bulletin numbers so that when I take my car in for it's 7500 mile service (~4200 so far), I can be specific with the issues (I'm sure the dealership will be thrilled). In order to help all users, I thought drivers could post upgrades and Vadis codes to this thread to make is easier for other users to find codes for their own issues. Please post both the problem that you had, and the code or service bulletin that was used to remedy it. Thanks

Good luck trying to get your upgrades. I took my 2002 xc in and requested that they look and see if there were any software upgrades since i bought the car. I also wanted them to increase the seat temp to the highest setting, 1 touch door opening on the remote, and DRL off.

Well the day I was there the computer was down so I had to reschedule and come in on another day. I got it in there and there were no software upgrades and they turned the seating to the lowest setting, and contrary to what I've read here regarding VADIS preferenced, they told me that those are not available. I took it back a third time, complaining about the seat heat and the restored it to the original setting and told me that they could not turn it up any higher, contrary again to info posted here.

Big disappointment!

Here's a few VADIS codes that I found.
Vic, note the highest temp setting for the seats and show it to your dealer. They should be able to program it then. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif http://www.xc70.com/pics/albums/userpics/autolock.jpg

Vic-
I'm not a native Californian, and I don't know where Dublin is, but maybe others are familiar with the area and recommend another dealer who can provide more reasonable service. Good luck.

I had three upgrades, haven' got a clue what they were for but one thing I can tell you is that the throttle is still there, I had asked them to update that one but they don't appear to have found anything.

The upgrades I got are ECM PETROL, ETM & TCM the numbers respectivly are 30677021, 30677023 & 30677036.

If anyone can enlighten me as to what they have done I could see if it makes any difference to the drive.

BTW the upgrades cost 0.15p, 0.15p & 0.10p at those prices I don't reckon I got much for my money http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I finally got a chance to bring my '04 XC70 in last week with a list of upgrades and VADIS changes that I wanted (all from this website). They took care of the "throttle lag" and "shift flare" and odometer restting issues as I requested. I also asked them to make the seats warmer (it's May in so cal so I can't really tell), set it so that one press of the key fob open button opens all the doors and set it so that all the doors lock when the car hits 7mph. They charged me $118 for the VADIS changes (labor charges).
There is a big difference with the throttle lag. I'm not really sure about the shift flare. And the odometer hasn't reset again (although it only happened twice). So all in all, I'm pretty happy with the changes made via upgrades and VADIS.

ifnt420, thanks for posting the excerpt from the Vadis coding structure. We take delivery in another 4 weeks and I will be sure to provide our dealer with codes and preferences. Might as well get it perfect from day 1.

No problem John.
Glad that I can help!! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
Hopefully we will get more VADIS codes from other members as well for other features. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Which SoCal dealer helped you with this?

Can you post the VADIS & upgrades you requested to fix the throttle lag problem? My car is currently at the dealer and they can't seem to find anything on the problem. Would really appreciate something to help them find the update required to fix this.

Thanks,
Quinn
