First real test of my car off-pavement - though not in the same league as the recent offroad pix posted here recently!
This is what a platinum green XC70 looks like after 18 miles of dirt roads, on the way to the Yolla Bolly wilderness in N. California. Most of the roads were in good shape (although right on the edge of precipitous drops - not the place for nervous drivers/passengers). The last half-mile or so to the trailhead was pretty rough, though. We were looking for a place to turn, assuming that we had mistakenly ventured onto an OHV trail, when the trailhead appeared; this pic was taken soon after. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone without AWD/4WD, though there was a Honda accord that had somehow made its way up there.
Bottom line - the car was sure-footed (sure-wheeled? http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif ) throughout. Looking forward to my next off-highway experience!
