Airbags

2002 XC70 - there's a sticker on one of the side panels that says the airbags need to be replaced (or maybe serviced) after 2012. Anyone with thoughts on whether this is really necessary? And if so, what the actual cost is? I'm not saying I can put a price on my family's safety, but . . . . .but I don't know how to finish that sentence.
