Thought folks on this forum would like to read this article from www.autos.ca (formerly CanadianDriver).

In short: The IIHS is redesigning some testing, like front impact crashes which continue to claim lives despite so many vehicles receiving "5 star" ratings. We all know no vehicle is completely safe, but the new "small frontal overlap crash test" really raises eyebrows. Of midsize luxury cars tested, only 2 of 11 vehicles passed the new test procedure -- the Acura TL and, surprise, surprise, the Volvo S60!
The article includes a video clip from the IIHS who particularly praises the engineering of the Volvo. Again, proof that Volvo builds safe vehicles -- not just ones that do well in specific, known tests ... ;)
