Hey everybody!

My wife and I just purchased a 2004 XC70 and are loving the car. It is a one owner with 65k miles. The 60k mile service was completed at a Houston dealership. I lack any real service history and am trying to attain the info from the Houston Dealer.

Given this is an 8 year old car, I am going to hopefully find a local Volvo shop to change all fluids. I've read many of the posts in the XC70 forum, and it seems that some cars do really well and other seem to need a lot of work. Should I do a pre-emptive timing belt change? What do other users recommend? We only drive about 5k a year and I want this car to last us for quite some time.

Also, are there any local members that have a shop recommendation? I'm looking for someone that knows trouble spots and can recommend aftermarket parts before I suffer any failures.

I look forward to being an active member of this forum!

Thanks,

Shawn

Welcome!
Lots of help available here.
What a great find! That is a gem of a car. One of the, if not the, best Volvo has produced.

My 2004 with 85,000 miles. It has been great and still looks new inside and out:
