So we were at my cousins place saturday night parked the car on the road and was having a drink. Kids run in to yell out that another kid hit the car with his bike. we run out and wouldn't you know it my car. well put a hole in the tail light cover and scratched the side panel. I tell him to go get his parents when mother comes guse what her first words were...

"why did you park on the road and not on the driveway!" can you believe it.....

anyways as you can see I'm pissed as she doesn't want to pay for it and will not give her name either.

Regardless I was hoping that one of you fine members can lead me in the right direction to pickup a cover and how to install it.

Thank you so much

Joe

Hi Joe,

Sorry to hear about your experience with that unruly mom and her kid. As the saying goes, 'What you sow is what you reap.'

I recently ordered brake parts through FCP Euro and found their pricing both on parts and shipping to be quite competitive. No doubt you’ll get hosed by the dealer.

You could also check local wreckers yards for a used replacement lamp assembly.

You will find attached PDFs regarding the tail lamp removal in forum member Willy’s post below:

$125 brand new. [thumbup]
I recently changed my lower right rear cluster after being hit by a scooter. :(

#2 on the following diagram. $109 + shipping. I did the same replacement last fall after getting hit by a errant shopping cart in a parking lot - you must take off the interior trim panels and undo some clips, a couple of screws and the whole thing slides out. Slide new one in and do everything in reverse order. Not too hard, but the clips require a special touch because they can break easily.

Now I notice I must've been hit by some gravel or a stone on the road this summer because the goddamn thing is cracked in the same spot! Red tuck tape is also your friend....
