I have a cracked headlight lens (DS) and was wondering what years will fit my 2002 XC

2001-2004, the glass and the entire headlight assembly are easily swappable.
The 2005+ headlights fit into the body, but the plugs would need modification.

Why not just replace the glass? I did this on my 850...wasn't hard at all...glass is $67 from IPD...

A friend just did a 02 P2 glass lens replacement. Harder than 850 since the lens is glued on (850s have a rubber gasket + metal clips). He used a heat gun on low (high will melt stuff) to get it off.

After getting the glass lens off, you can see low beam light bulb inserts in between a tube and it doesn't look centered. But that is the way it is so refrain from bending it. My friend bent it to center and low beam got all messed up.

Yup, the plastic lenses don't wear well.

yes but they don't shatter when they are struck with a pebble

tried to get my mechanic to do this but he stated that he had to take the bumper off. He requested that i take it to a body shop.

sorry, yes, the bumper needs to come off. Here is how you do that

Be careful flipping open the cover that hides the headlight wiper arm nut. Very easy to break the brittle plastic cover.
