No, I didn't receive a stone head on... Matter of fact, the glass part of the right is in perfect shape.

Yesterday, I briefly looked at the car when my wife took it and realized that the right fog light wasn't working (no DIM warning BTW). Another burned bulb, so I thought... I visually checked the light and, surprise, the bulb wasn't there anymore! http://volvoxc.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif I removed the protecting plate and found that the plastic socket retainer is broken as shown in the picture below.

Wonder if I'll have to replace the whole assembly... http://volvoxc.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

If you're still under warranty then ask Service Dept to replace. Bummer.

As I thought, we can't by individual parts... :( Went to my dealer after surfing the net for best price for V70XC-XC70 2001-2004 Right Fog Light Assembly, part #9190905. Best price from my dealer (15 min drive from home) CAD$129.00.

At least, I'm left with replacement glass... ;)

Hi Raynald,
Need a small favor from ya. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Can you tell by looking at your new ass'y when you receive it, if the adjustment screws/knob are included in that ass'y?
I'm asking because my adjustment screws/knob are broken;
and was wondering if I need to replace the whole ass'y as well.

Thanks a mil!!!

I just put a new fog light in my 04, you have to purchuse the entire assembly, I paid $114 US, It takes a some fiddelin to get in and out but it can be done, After you remove the small cover underneath you will need to loosen the long black plastic guard that runs accross to the other side, a Torqs socket with a ratchat extention would work better than a torqs driver on the light mounting screws.

Have Fun

Just went to my dealer today to get my replacement for my right fog light. Complete ass'y all right! Even the bulb is included. http://volvoxc.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

(...) Can you tell by looking at your new ass'y when you receive it, if the adjustment screws/knob are included in that ass'y?Yes, ifnt420, as you can see on the picture below (the thing is upside down), the screw and knob are included. And no, can't get it alone, you must buy the entire ass'y...

It came in this box with a little handle...

Hi Raynald,

Thanks for the helpful photos and info. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I'm gonna bypass getting a new fog light from the dealer right now (too much $&#036http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Luckily my fogs are still aiming straight so I'll wait to see if I can find one from a junk yard here locally.

Thanks again for the help!! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Just replace the thing tonight. Contrary to Propguy, I didn't have to loosen the plastic guard under the radiator, only the corner cover under the ass'y. On the other side (left), it's maybe another story. I just had to pry down the bumper a little. Only three Torx hold the fog light inside the bumper, but the top one is impossible to get with a regular screwdriver. I used a flexible extender similar to the one in the picture below, connected to a battery powered screwdriver.

I did have fun! http://volvoxc.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
