I disconnected the battery of my 2006 XC70 without taking the CDs out of the multichanger and parking it which apparently one is supposed to do - I found out later at cost! The internals of the multichanger broke up when I reconnected the battery with CD ERROR showing and it wouldn't eject. Volvo quoted £800 for a new unit and nearly £100 for refitting and reprogramming to the vehicle. However, I took the unit out myself from the dashboard and sent it by parcel post to Central Services audio specialists at Ipswich and they replaced all the internal components very promptly and sent it back by courier next day. Just refitted it and it's perfect, so a big thank you to all at Central Services, saved me a lot, but still £322 inc Vat, a costly mistake. Hope others find this useful instead of being ripped off as usual by Volvo Dealer network.
